Ambassador Ademola Oluseyi Onafowokan is a graduate of Political Science and he holds a Masters’ degree in International Relations. He has a robust experience in conference diplomacy and Bilateral matters. Onafowokan has over 30 years of active dedicated service to international diplomacy and bilateral matters. He has represented Nigeria at different international conferences and has been part of the Nigerian delegates who represented the country at various multilateral organisations such as the International Coffee Organisation, International Cocoa Organisation, (ICCO), International Tin Council/Tin Research Institute and the International Rubber Study.
Ambassador Onafowokan has served as envoy for Nigeria to several countries of the world including Russia, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, and United Kingdom. Going by his versatile International Diplomacy accomplishments/achievements, he was appointed as the Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana from 2012 to 2015 where he fostered economic and social growth between the two countries.
Now retired, Ambassador Onafowokan is enthused with diverse international political activities and he enjoys intellectual discussions and seeks to find means of providing sustainable solutions to challenges within the continent.
Ambassador Onafowokan is an excellent team player with extreme patience for human understanding and interpersonal relationships. He has learnt to speak Spanish fluently and enjoys playing golf and scrabble for leisure.
